The "indoor positioning" made possible by real-time location systems is a key component in the digital infrastructure of the factory of tomorrow. With RTLS, transponders can be located three-dimensionally for the first time in closed rooms with an accuracy of up to 30 cm while recording their movements.
The transponders can be attached to pallets, containers or assets, among other things. This means that objects that have disappeared are a thing of the past as well as necessary data acquisition by the respective workers.
Some transponders have a display on which, for example, current information on the respective product can be visualized as a code (barcode, 2D code) or in plain text.
All information is sent to higher-level software, such as solutions from Dresden Informatik GmbH for tracking and tracing or for warehouse optimization.
